ICEA is the apex industry association representing the entire electronics ecosystem such as Semiconductors, components, sub-assemblies, mobile phones, IT Hardware, consumer electronics, and other ESDM verticals.
Know MoreIndia is currently experiencing a transformative shift in electronics manufacturing, driven by remarkable growth over the past decade. One of the most significant milestones has been the exponential rise in mobile phone manufacturing, which has surged 22-fold to reach Rs. 4,22,000 crores in 2023-24. At the same time, exports have soared an impressive 81-fold, touching Rs. 1,29,000 crores compared to 2014-15. This incredible leap in mobile manufacturing has become a cornerstone of India’s broader electronics production and export journey, positioning the country as a global hub in the sector.
At the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), we are committed to building on this momentum. Our goal is to extend the success of mobile manufacturing to other critical segments of the electronics industry, including IT hardware, consumer electronics, components, and sub-assemblies. Guided by our motto — Inspire, Enable, Lead — ICEA continues to play a pivotal role in shaping a conducive policy framework. Through efforts like the rationalization of tariff structures, addressing anomalies in tariff line interpretations, and enhancing the ease of doing business, we are striving to create a globally competitive manufacturing ecosystem in India.
We are also deeply appreciative of the unwavering support from our government, industry partners, and stakeholders who have helped pave the way for this growth. Under the visionary leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister, India is poised to achieve a bold target of USD 500 billion in electronics manufacturing by 2030.
This ambitious goal will require concerted efforts from all players in the ecosystem — policymakers, industry leaders, brands, OEMs, EMS providers, and component manufacturers. Strengthening integration with Global Value Chains (GVCs) and nurturing domestic champions will be key to realizing this vision. This will also help Indian manufacturing expand its global footprint.
I would like to invite industry colleagues to join us in this nation-building endeavour making India self-reliant (Atmanirbhar) and making global footprints in the domain of electronics manufacturing.
I am confident that with the combined strength of the industry’s passion, wisdom, capital, and the government’s visionary policies, India is ready to lead the world in electronics manufacturing.
