Mobile Operating System Substitutability
The Indian smartphone market offers a wide range of phones with prices ranging from INR 10,000 to over INR 1 Lakh. This report investigates the barriers and costs associated with switching smartphone operating systems. The study reveals that important apps are available on both Android and iOS platforms. It also measures the time required to switch between operating systems. The report concludes that low costs related to switching operating systems do not pose a significant obstacle for users in the Indian market.
